CapturaTalk is a totally new mobile software solution introduced in the UK and Ireland by Cambridge-based iansyst Ltd, who have provided software and assistive computer technology for over 22 years.

The first mobile phone solution to scan text from both digital photographs and electronic documents, then use speech to read it out aloud.

This can be of enormous benefit for anyone who needs help with reading because of dyslexia or sight impairments, as well as supporting those learning the English language.

Using CapturaTalk with a camera mobile phone, take a photo of important text that you need to read and understand or remember for later, for example:

• a set of instructions
• information from a newspaper
• a travel schedule
• the contact details and opening times of a health service

Simple and Yet Highly Effective

The possibilities are endless. CapturaTalk will scan the photograph, recognise the text and allow you to select the information you would like read aloud to you. It will also read out text from an electronic document or email stored on the smartphone.  Simple and yet highly effective.

CapturaTalk is a software development of Motto-Captura based in Denmark.

The idea for the software application stemmed from an EU project called MELFO with European partners including the Danish Building Research Institute, Copenhagen University and with involvement from the international network Crossroads Copenhagen.

In January 2007 CapturaTalk won Motto-Captura third prize in the Edison awards, Denmark’s prestigious competition for IT innovation.

iansyst Ltd and Motto-Captura are working together to shape the future software development of CapturaTalk. Find out about us and the the team involved in this unique partnership.
